Karen Hoffman

Good news has come in from Karen. She is currently in a half-way house in San Francisco following a premature and unexpected release. Out of prison hospital, her health has shown some improvement. A letter dated March 3, 2002 states:

Just a quick note to say hello. Much has transpired in the past 5 weeks. More than I have energy to get into. Things are slowly coming around. All good things in all good time.

Sat. was spent in computer class at the main library. I discovered the SF pubic library has 10 copies of our book. One of my instructors was intrigued by it. I was curious as to the circulation/check out rate. He was willing to investigate for me, but I didn't have any time to spare. When I go back I'll check. They also have specials for local writers, so perhaps I can get my foot in the door for some publicity.

Tomorrow I have a temp job working the phone bank for Mark Leno. He's running for State Assembly. I don't especially like politicians, but he's paying cash, so he's alright with me.

Take care,
Love, Karen
